Growing up, my grandmother was my hero. She was a Realtor in Lansing and one of the first female broker/owners in the area. At a time when women in business were far less common, she built something remarkable. But what I admired most about her wasn’t just her success—it was her heart. My grandmother believed that everyone deserved a safe place to call home. She purchased foreclosed and run-down houses that others overlooked, renovated them, and gave them a second life. Sometimes she sold them, but more often she rented them or offered land contracts to families who couldn’t qualify for traditional financing. Because of her, many families who felt like homeownership was out of reach were given a chance. I watched how deeply she cared about the people she helped, and it left a lasting impression on me. Her example planted a seed in my heart. Real estate, to me, has never been just about buying and selling property—it’s about people, stability, and opportunity. I love being even a small part of helping someone find their forever home, and my dream is to take that impact even further. I want to follow in my grandmother’s footsteps by purchasing neglected homes, renovating them, and creating affordable housing opportunities in my community. Steuben County is in desperate need of affordable housing, and I want to be part of the solution—helping breathe life back into homes and neighborhoods while giving families a place where they can build their future. In 2024, my life took an unexpected turn when I was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. Much of that year was spent in and out of the hospital receiving chemotherapy. Facing that kind of uncertainty changes your perspective on everything. It forced me to reflect on what truly matters and reminded me that life is too short to keep putting dreams on hold. In January of 2025, I was blessed to enter remission. Since then, I have made a promise to myself: to stop waiting and start building the life and business I have always dreamed of. Becoming a real estate professional is more than a career choice for me—it is a way to honor my grandmother’s legacy while creating something meaningful for my own family and community. I want to help families find stability, restore homes that have been forgotten, and make a lasting difference in the places we live.
