David and Kelly both moved to Austin just after graduation. David came from Minnesota, and Kelly came from Indiana, a decade apart. They met at a waterski tournament in Frame Switch, Texas in August 1990, where David was skiing. Kelly came with a friend it was love at first sight, destined to be together forever. It was natural for David and Kelly to be in the Real Estate industry. David’s father was an Entrepreneur and Real Estate Investor, gas stations, Single Family Homes and, Ranches in Minnesota, and Kelly’s father was a Custom Builder and a wonderfully talented Craftsman. Together with over 54 collective years of experience in the housing industry, they are The Thate Team. They have earned a reputation for honesty, integrity, and professionalism, with the highest level of expertise and knowledge in the industry. David brings a wealth of knowledge as a Custom Builder, Land Developer, and Ranch Salesman, while Kelly thoroughly enjoys the residential side of real estate. Over the years David’s love for building homes has rubbed off on Kelly. She is joining David in his love of designing, building, remodeling, and restoring homes. To date, David and Kelly Thate have lived in the Austin area for over 46 years and have been blessed with 5 children, and 7 grandchildren. David and Kelly both actively volunteer at their Church, as well as Volunteering with Agape Pregnancy Center, and Education Connection. Kelly has a ministry of collecting old wedding gowns and prom dresses to create heavely gowns to help parents when they have to say goodbye to their sweet babies instead of taking them home. They support the Jail To Job Ministry, Community First, and Parker Clay in Africa. Stop Child Sex Trafficking because “GOD'S CHILDREN ARE NOT FOR SALE!” Kelly felt led by God to help Foster Care Children. She had no idea where to start or what she could do to make a difference in the Foster Care System. After researching The Foster Care System, she was shocked to find out that 19% of Foster Children are sold to Child Sex Traffickers. God had directed Kelly to The Foster Care System, to expose and stop this terrible event from happening. Since 2023 we are helping Save God’s Children from Sex Trafficking. They are actively working with The Refuge Ranch here in Texas. They are helping support The Refuge Ranch, which provides a safe place rescued children can call home. They meet all the children's medical, physical, and emotional needs. They have a full curriculum education available through high school. Best of all These children are introduced to Our Lord and Savior and so they have Love, Hope, Joy, and Learn to Trust again, Praise God! Statistically, if these children do not get the help they need they will end up back in the trafficking world because they have nowhere else to go.
